Following a formal evaluation, including clinical observations and a screening, we develop a treatment plan. A treatment plan incorporates input from parents and caregivers together with the professional evaluation and findings. Typical plans include both long-term and short-term goals, e.g. client will use X (L) sound in isolation, client will use X (L) sound in beginning and ending position(s) of the word at word level, client will increase understanding of age-appropriate receptive vocabulary, client will identify unique nouns or action verbs by pointing to pictures. The frequency of therapy sessions per week varies according to the severity of identified disorders but on average is usually two or three times a week.
Following the global Covid pandemic, virtual therapy services are available, though face to face is preferred when possible.
